Our last couple of days in Manaus were probably my favorite.
This is the correct technique for catching rimonella damselfly larvae. First, find a waterfall. Second, block as much of the waterfall with your arm or your body or a spare sign that you find hanging out on the shore (you may get wet). Third, shine your headlamp on the space where the waterfall is blocked and look for moving black things. (Alternatively, slide your finger along any shadowy areas and if you feel something buggy, pull it out and check if it's a rimonella).
